Clearview AI's latest fine: $33.7 million from Dutch authorities

The Netherlands' Data Protection Association, a nationwide personal data watchdog organization, has issued a fine of around $33.7 million to Clearview AI over a global facial recognition database. They are not the first or only national organization to go after the company. Allegations generally fall along the same lines: that Clearview gathered the photos it has on hand illegally, and has invaded the privacy of those whose likenesses it has on hand.
