After ordering 100,000 Teslas, depreciation and upkeep made Hertz give up on the rapid electrification of its rental fleet. It will now continue offering its Tesla vehicles at a discount to offload them quickly at a steep loss.

No electrical infrastructure is being added where I live. I don't know how the grid will support all these new EVs.

There was a '23 Tesla for 24000 I was eyeing in Texas. That's before tax credit! That's like 50% less than they paid for it...

Hertz uses cars for rent, and as data showed people were abusing the cars. Uber driving is for making money as a taxi service. Many taxi services have long been successful with Teslas and other EVs

I somehow doubt that as infrastructure is being added pretty much everywhere, even if the approvals take forever
