Although Windows is a commercial product, paying for it doesn't keep ads away. After removing these annoyances from the Weather app last year, Microsoft has just revived ads in all areas of this piece of code. To make matters even worse, these ads are pinned, so scrolling down won't make them go away.

Little wonder that most custom Windows 10 and Windows 11 builds come without any of that crap. Weather, One Note, One Drive - not an exhaustive list - Windows 7 had none of these. That's one of the reasons it's still rather popular, for an OS that got its last update over 4 years ago.

More and more reason to stay away from MiniSquish's latest offerings if you seldom or never attach to the internet.

Between the constant changes, advertisements and removal of any user customizations on forced updates - no thanks.

How many weather websites do you guys know that are free and ads-free?

I don't get why and how people expect from Microsoft things for free.... A little ad on msn.com/weather is newsworthy and a good excuse to express criticism... Bah....
