Microsoft has tackled poor Edge browser user interface performance by replacing the React UI with WebUI 2.0. The new framework was created after analyzing Edge performance via telemetry, then tackling module and Javascript issues to improve responsiveness.

M$, like damned Google, first of all needs to eliminate the non-disabled muddy method of font smoothing, and not engage in extraneous nonsense. Because Edge uses the Chromium engine, it also incorrectly draws fonts on the screen, which has been proven many times and about which there are dozens of requests to Google developers in their bug tracker. But they have been ignoring this for years, spoiling the eyesight of billions of people using screens with ppi below 220-230.

I'm about it, I honestly think Edge's interface currently is really good, its better at handling RAM even tho its Chromium based, if they wanna improve it even more then by all means. Only thing I wan is to just wanna minimize the internal harvesting tbh

" Web browsers had very snappy response and performance many years ago" lol what are you smoking? Browsers have never had snappy performance.

Also, this whole article feels like a farse. You deliberately chose to use less JS and more CSS in a complete rewrite of the application, of course the performance is better. I'm not sure you proved the performance bottleneck was React though, sounds like your own code probably wasn't great either.

What the hell is webui 2.0??? I can't find any information about this. How is it possible that edge is built on react?? What kind of bs is this? If you are not a developer, don't write things you don't know please

Apparently it's a thing, just Google it, the first result is from Microsoft's blog.
