Xiaomi has officially announced the Redmi Book Pro 2024 range. There will be two laptops in the lineup, one featuring a 14-inch screen while the other coming with a 16-inch screen. As of now, the company has only confirmed that the newer laptop series will bring up to 70W of performance, a thin and light body, a flagship LCD screen, and "ultra-long" battery life.

I can't speak for the newer ones, but I owned a Xiaomi Notebook Pro maybe 5 years ago. Best laptop that I ever owned. Essentially a MBP with Windows. I was far happier with that half-the-price machine than with my awful overpriced Dell XPS 13. I assume the quality is the same if not better nowadays. It still looks like one milled block of aluminium, so I assume the build quality is still as great if not better.

"Besides, Xiaomi announced that the new Redmi Book Pro notebooks will be thin and light (Acer Swift Go with Core i7 curr. $599.99 on Amazon)"
Huh?

They should give both options and then they would see what the public wants.
It would be a best seller if they put an AMD Zen 4 7040 Phoenix in the 14" one since it is the processor that has been a success throughout 2023

I'm currently using a Huawei laptop. IMO Huawei is a very expensive brand.  My next laptop will be Xiaomi due to it having the same or better specs as Huawei and very much cheaper!

BUT on the other hand, I'm falling out of love with laptops.  In the past the laptop was my primary device for media consumption (my Dad's always hogging the TV in the living room so I had to always make do with a laptop).  After I got a cheap Xiaomi Redmi projector and saw how good movies looked in 100+ inches on my plain barren bedroom wall, I never think I would need a laptop again.

For my next generation, I'm thinking of getting a laser projector rather than a new laptop of any brand!
