Fujifilm X100VI specs leak claims 6.2k video chops, supply chain fix to avoid unobtanium status

With the new X100VI, Fujifilm looks to be addressing a major flaw of the X100V — availability. The new X100VI will allegedly be made in China and receive substantial upgrades to its capabilities, including 6.2K video at 30 fps and 4K 60 fps video.

Months of speculation over what the successor to the X100V would be called is all it took to sustain my interest in this next generation camera.  Then the frequency of rumors-turned-leaks started to ramp up over the last month to further whet my appetite.  Specs and suggested pricing are all but a guarantee at this point. Though I'm not even sure there's a need anymore, risking the dreaded "On Back Order" status might prove too great not to take out that second mortgage in preparation for its release. The decision has been made: It will be mine!  My finger is already on the mouse clicker as if to snipe an eBay auction.  Then I read the fine print and realize all this anticipation and hype has proved to be but wasted energy with three words: "Made In China."

I would buy an X100VI in a heartbeat if it had a fast (f1.8-2.8) 3x or 4x (24-100mm equivalent would be great) high quality fixed zoom lens.
Don't get me wrong. The existing fixed focal length lens is great. But how I would use a high quality compact there are too many situations where a bit of a zoom would be really necessary.

I'm perfectly fine with my 26MP X100V, the video holds no interest for me, and I've even got a Really Right Stuff handgrip. Made in Japan locks me in. When I bought my XT4, and then traded it in for the XT5, I was profoundly disappointed to learn that they were indeed made in the PRC. Sorry, Fuji. You're appealing to folks who make note of these things. Do better.
