SamrtSens, a Chinese CMOS manufacturer, has launched its first 50 MP 1/1.28-inch image sensor. Called the SmartSens SC580XS, the camera sensor is competing against the likes of Sony IMX707, Samsung ISOCELL JN1, and OmniVision OV50H. The company says the sensor offers better dynamic range, accurate focusing, and better video-capturing abilities than its predecessor.
