HP Victus 15 has a short two-hour battery life even when on the lowest power settings

Despite its large 70 Wh battery pack, the Victus 15 lasts for just a fraction of most other gaming laptops when running on battery power. Runtimes are so short that there could potentially be a bug with the numerous power profile settings.

I just got the Ryzen 5600h and RX5500m GPU Victus. I easily get 8+ hours for browsing and normal use. There is possibly a bug I believe on the intel nvidia version? Or maybe let windows update to it's heart's content initially after which results should be different.

I have the I5 12500H with RTX 3050 , The Quiet mode is working perfectly fine , It limits the Processors Turbo and Nvidia Graphics Powerdraw , i can get around 5 to 6 hours with Office usage

Very similar with my victus laptop. I using 12500h gtx version, battery drain very fast and fan louder when using quiet mode. Im not sure is this bug or defect. Please inform me if you have an update.

I have 15-fa0031dx  nvidia/intel  gtx 1650/core 5 12450H  I'm also experience short battery life. I have set OMEN to eco, and I also change Processor Power Management -  Maximum Processor State to 30%. Windows did update the firmware/bios to F12  on HP website just say bios update F11, nvidia and intel gpu drivers are old like always.

I have Victus fa0116tx i5-12500h/GTX1650. The battery life is awful, 2 hours for just Office. Additionally their display also seems awful. I got my display constantly blinking after 1 week of usage. I brought it to service center and got replacement just to get a same problem. Going to the service center again tommorow.

I have a Victus notebook 15 with a Ryzen 5 5600h and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650, I have been using this laptop for 6 months now and I had the same issue of very short battery life of about one and half to two hours until yesterday when I changed the Nvidia control panel settings. I put the power management mode to optimal power and my battery life doubled. Try it out if it works for you.

I have the same laptop and the problems exist like fast battery consumption . I can not find the power management mode in nvidia control panel. Can you share with me?

Thanks in advance.

Got a Victus 15 like two weeks ago, with i5-12500H and RTX 4060 and I rapidly noticed that the battery was also draining way too fast (less than 2 hours).

What I found to work with me was:

- terminate all applications that could be unnecessarily draining energy (in my case, aplications for mouse, keyboard and headsets that I only use at home)

- if using Opera GX, set to battery saving

- set the battery definitions to battery saving. use all the recommendations, namely lowering the refresh rate of the monitor (from 144 Hz to 60 Hz)

- in NVIDIA control panel, set battery setting to maximum performance

This resulted in duplicating or triplicating the battery life, while using normal apps like browser (including playing videos) and Spotify
