Bloomberg: Apple planning to develop in-house camera sensors for future devices

Apple is planning to continue moving the design of its chips and other internal components in-house, including camera sensors, according to well known Apple insider Mark Gurman. Image sensors are vital not only for the iPhone and iPad lineup, but also for upcoming mixed reality hardware and autonomous-driving systems which the company is working on.
