Apple's plans for updating its MacBook and iPad lineup with OLED screens have long been rumored. A recent report by Taiwanese publication ET News sheds more light on the company's planned timeline for these display upgrades, starting with OLED iPad Pros next year.

There's no actual point in OLED as their latest MiniLED is True Black and zones are ~6x6mm. One can of course crank brightness to the point his eyes bleed out and philosophically perform a totally-real-life-test of looking at white dot on black background to see blooming even with zones that small, but smh.

Apple better be developing some tasty microLED screens there.

I don't understand why we're already hearing about Oled when the M3s have just come out. The screen is already extraordinarily perfect.
Will brightness necessarily be lower on Oled?
And there's the added risk of pixel burn-in?
Also, I have the impression that Oled hurts the eyes more than mini-led when you're close up.

It's the same with everything else too. iPhone 16 "rumours" started literally less than 12 hours after the iPhone 15 launch.
