Zen5 is a considerable microarchitectural leap over Zen4, yet its design is not that different, so IPC gains could reach 15% with the same core counts. Zen6, on the other hand, is bringing architecture and package design changes, possibly launching with stacked CCDs on top of the IOD and up to 16 performance cores per CCD.

Mr Majestyk

Pretty sure if you watch the video that 15% figure is probably the bare minimum the uplift will be. AMD would be fools to broadcast the actual IPC uplift to Intel 6 months before release. Others that have AMD contacts just like MLisD claim > 25% and even Tom quoted a 15-26% range.

I call total BS on the number being 15% given Zen 5 is a major architectural redesign of Zen 4. Only the IO and IF remains the same.

AMD Zen 5 would improve the CPI by 10-15% compared to Zen 4 (Ryzen 7000) Which is already more than Intel, which only increased between 5-10%, other media indicate that AMD is playing with the numbers and 25% is expected. something BRUTAL. It will also increase the L1D cache higher than Intel and here it is. The reason why there is a race for the cache and not so much for the cores is in Artificial Intelligence. High data transfer speeds that reduce latency are required for this field, currently AMD over Intel. The shorter the access times, the greater the performance and computing capacity, going from the current 32 KB to 48 KB, with Intel 14 and 15gen being much smaller. They will also gain the ability to perform FP-512 floating point operations very important for artificial intelligence and deep learning.
It is clear that AMD will put all its artificial intelligence technology into these Zen 5s, which will be more than 50% more powerful in data processing and that in IT is brutal.
