MediaTek has announced that its next-gen Android smartphones will be able to run generative AI applications by themselves, thanks to a new partnership with Meta and its large language model (LLM) Llama 2. This new level of potential functionality will be spearheaded by the OEM's next flagship SoC, the Dimensity 9300, from its launch later in 2023.
