Seems reasonable, as long as the price is right...
The 4080 at 150+25w does 19k easily.... This seems to be in between 4070 mobile and 4080 mobile, the 4080 mobile matches the 3080ti desktop while the 4090 mobile basically matches 3090ti desktop. This on the other hand basically matches a 3080 10g (4070 desktop matches 3080 10g). If this is the top sku AMD has for mobile, they definitely won't win any performance war. Not on the top end nor in the second tier.
This gets a bit confusing since I wasn't really keeping track of the desktop parts, but I was just taking a look at the mobile 4080 and at least they do make it an actually worthwhile(regardless of price) upgrade compared to the 3080 Ti, unlike 4070 against 3070 Ti. Anyhow I can wait till next year, since my favorite laptop model doesn't come with a 4080 tier...
What is your favorite laptop model?
Flow X16, the only hybrid with that kind of power(still, one tier short, especially intolerable at that price is the 8GB VRAM), and it's not underventilated like the XPS series, nor with a bad screen like all the Alienwares. Conversely you could call it the only high end gaming notebook that flips 360° and has a digitizer. And it looks very sophisticated, more so than the non-hybrid cousin Zephyrus M16(which instead has a useless LED cover that's dead weight), and slightly more refined than its predecessor. Last but not least, it's cheaper than Blade 16😀
