Computer mouse technology has greatly evolved and they are very reliable and robust, and in some models buttons are replaceable.

Sadly, scroll wheel is out of the equation and it is the most common point of failure, but still manufacturers are keep innovating sensors.

Hopefully EU will set rules for manufacturers to support repairs of out of warranty products.
