Americans don't care. Companies sell for the domestic market in priority. In different states there is a complete analogue of VAT - sales taxes, but on average 2-3 times lower than in Europe, where the authorities charge you around the circle. First, for wages, then for purchased goods, paid for with money from a salary from which taxes have already been taken ...

In essence, VAT is a levy on the illegal market of workers who do not pay taxes officially. As well as the sales tax, its copy for the final consumer.
