The developers at Microsoft apparently had their hands full with the new Surface Pro 8 and Studio, because the compact Surface Go 3 only gets a mini update with a different processor and the switch to Windows 11. We took a look at how this works in practice.

s*** tablet. Expensive and underpowered. Makes every android and iPad look like supercomputers

I prefer this to my Samsung galaxy s7 fe and iPad. My use case is mobile work/productivity. Together with a Surface Pro, I use MS Garage's "mouse without borders" to use one keyboard and mouse as well as shared clipboard across two screens.
The benefit of using this with shared inputs as a productivity rig over using a tablet as a second screen is separated processing power (it can run a proper anaconda instance), massively better battery life in comparison to casting a second screen, the ability to use the touch display and all inputs without lag, hence the pen as well, etc.

There was no other solution that could compete to it, at least in my use case for serious productivity (coding, DS).

notebookcheck's scoring system is severely flawed. this disappointment from Microsoft scores a commendable 85 while being inferior to most of its competitors in the same price bracket, then something as good as Asus G14 -recent Alan Walker edition- while being a pretty decent machine, superior to many similar machines(keyboard, battery, raw power, etc) manages meager 83.
The difference in score is minimal but G14 is something really recommendable while this being totally meh (with clearly better options for the same price) and still scoring higher. it sucks.
