For the first time since its original release in 2018, Lenovo is not merely updating the ThinkPad P1. The new version of the premium mobile workstation, the Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 4, is a complete redesign. A large 16 inch 16:10 screen, vapor chamber cooling, top-firing speakers, 5G, a 1080p webcam and Tiger Lake H as well as up to the Nvidia RTX A6000 - Lenovo has packed the ThinkPad P1 G4 with new features.

No AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, 5800HS, 5900HS, 5950HS options?

The keyboard appears to have lower than 1.8mm travel, and the bezels are still super thick compared to a 2013 XPS.
In summary, unless you need specific Intel and Thunderbolt features, you're better off with a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro (5800H, 32GB, 1TB, RTX 3070, 130W ~€1620) or Legion 7 (RTX 3080, 165W).

I'll wait until Thunderbolt with 240W+ charging and AMD Ryzen become available for ThinkPad X1 Extreme/P1 series.

It should be 1.5 IIRC. I doubt X1 Extreme will come with 240 W charging (and that's the maximum planned for now, there is no "+"). The battery just isn't big enough. The reason some laptops have 200+ W PSUs isn't charging, they have them so they can reach full performance. When charging, it's going to be more like 80-100 W. Unless the fast charging fad hits laptops as well. It really does no favours to lifespan.

They lost me at the screen.

No lower-resolution touch screen is going to be a deal-breaker for a lot of people, as Linus from LMG has mentioned many, many times in his reviews. Future versions of Windows 11 onwards will focus even more on improving Touch input, and touch on screen is something that is always better to have than not.

It's also really stupid to downgrade or remove a great feature that existed in the previous generations of your product. Like OLED for instance. For a lot of people, OLED counts as "Once you've used it, there's no going back" level of experience.

What I want to see, is a screen that is 16:10, Touch, QHD, Bright, WCG, HDR, and possibly Variable High-Refresh. Well, Lenovo still can't seem to deliver.

I'll be waiting for MSI Creator M16/Z16 and XPS OLED review. And hopefully more premium All-AMD workstation laptops too in the future.

Actually Lenovo is able to deliver this.  They currently offer a Slim 7 Pro/Yoga 14s model overseas (China and other areas) with a 16:10, 2880x1800 display (slightly better than QHD), 400 nit, 90 Hz, with Dolby Vision, albeit in a 14 in display.  The added kicker... AMD Ryzen 5800H processor.

I believe this model is in its second generation, and Lenovo still chooses not to bring it over here.  To me, this is the perfect productivity/media consumption laptop available, just not attainable for the US folks... yet.
