AMD RDNA 3 Navi 31 160 CU MCM internal performance target to be 2.5x RDNA 2 Radeon RX 6900 XT, Navi 33 will still be monolithic; NVIDIA Lovelace has RDNA 3 and Intel Xe firmly in sight

AMD seems to be internally looking at a 2.5x performance increase for RDNA 3 compared to RDNA 2, flagship-to-flagship. RDNA 3 Navi 31 with 160 CUs is expected to be a multi-chip module while Navi 33 will continue to be monolithic. With Intel Xe also pegged to offer good ray tracing performance, NVIDIA Lovelace will have both Intel and AMD in its sights.

Just another meh for red team VGA.

I want a powerful APU with 20CU vega 2nd gen with Zen 3 so the cost will be lower but the perfs are nearer to RX Vega M GH /GTX 1050.
Their answer: NO! never

Their hystory of APUs trash....

Raven Ridge 251mm^2 ATI radeon 8core 65W TDP 22nm
2400G 150mm^2 14nm 4c/8t 14nm 11CU vega 1st gen= GT 1030
3400G 150mm^2 12nm (+20% of more space) 4c/8t  11CU vega 1st gen =GT 1030 so here a good question why not 13-14CU?
4700G 150 mm^2 7nm (+50% of more space maybe for more cores) 8c/16t but instead to go forward they watch back... tadaaa 8CU vega 2nd gen ok is good as 11CU old but with higher freq of Ram is slighty faster = GT 1030 OC
5700G 170 mm^2 7+nm (+10% of more space taking consideration that Zen3 cores are bigger and for this reason the size of the die is larger) but surprise the ever recycled vega is still there with the same number of symbol of infinity, not 14CU not 15CU but always everlasting 8CU !!!
better frequencies of RAM better Zen3 cores +19% of more IPC and with DDR4 4400MHZ you can get better perfs with newer SSD +22% of more perfs against previous generation, but what about 8CU vega iGPU perfs?

Answer to the people ....

Psss spot here: GT 1030 extreme overclocked not even a GTX 1050 LOL

xpclient

Let them bring RDNA2 to laptops first, later this year. Should have happened at the same time as Cezanne/Lucienne and also USB 4.

Hahahaha let's see your tone when AMD launched APU with RDNA2 and DDR5 which is not long from now, ohhhh AMD APU is trash?

LMAO If so, Intel's integrated graphics until only recently is dog sh*t, garbage, filth, disgusting sewage. It took Intel a modern GPU architecture to even begin to match AMD's OLD AF architecture, and even then it only outperforms AMD's OLD tech by a small percentage hahahaha

I doubt we will see major improvement without solving the memory bandwidth issue. While G6X is sufficient enough for ampere increasing by 80% or more the CUDA cores/streaming multi processors will require significant bandwidth increase maybe new cache can alleviate the bottle neck memory bandwidth is still very crucial. Also relying mostly on CUs increase for performance increases might be less beneficial at lower resolutions (1080p and 1440p).

@Troll

don't say to me...

a GTX 1050Ti? LOL

M1 APU in just 10W is powerful like GTX 1050, hope to see a cooperation between intel/nVidia for their APU, a RTX 3050 die size in Lunar lake.

even APU of PS5 isn't a true RDNA2

they have put an old 1900X R9 and 36 Vega CU @180W TDP in 7nm (maybe if not in 12++ usually used to reduce price for chips)

Seeing gamerNexus bench we have all laughted. Even an R3 3300X with GTX 1060 is more powerful LOL

Ah right you pay it for only 500$...

AMD has stolen again.

All of your posts here are moronic, but this one takes the cake. You're still pushing that multiply-debunked rumour about the PS5 APU not being RDNA 2 (it is), the CPU cores are Zen 2, and it's about as powerful as an RTX 2080 + 3700.

Another kid has been found. Neither consoles can deliver better resolution, graphics or texture quality than even rtx 2060 as shown in digital foundry. And no way both console's cpu are no near to a 3700 no matter what. Those are even less powerful than 3300x because of under volt and undercooked cores with auto smt enable.
