Several Asus ROG Zephyrus configurations powered by AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS and 5900HX APUs have surfaced online. The 5900HX could be an unlocked variant of the 5900H. The configs also list NVIDIA's upcoming mobile RTX 30 Ampere GPUs including the RTX 3070, RTX 3080, and RTX 3060 Max-Q along with a Quadro RTX 3000 version.

Now this is looking great but needs NVIDIA GPU when AMD is winning the race in CPU and GPU segments. An all AMD laptop with top of the range Radeon 6000X gpu would put Intel and NVIDIA to bed.

They've traditionally sold gaming laptops that don't have a webcam  with a USB one that clips to the frame of the screen. I'd imagine you can just use one of those. If you use your webcam that often, I guess you'd have to consider an alternative but I feel like passing the cost savings over to the consumer was great for this device in particular. Few gamers use webcams frequently, plus the majority on gaming devices are potato quality anyway and are only there because it is considered a standard to have a webcam on any laptop.

Fitting all that onto a 14" form factor mobo would increase costs. One of other amazing aspects of the G14 is its near unbeatable value to performance ratio.

16:10 doesn't make sense on a gaming laptop. I mean, it is feasible but some games won't necessarily allow for the aspect ratio and would end up with black bars. Also, high refresh rate 14" panels are scarce. The one on the G14 may well be the only one produced at all right now. Until a display manufacturer makes one, 16:10 is a pipe dream. I've never even heard of a high refresh rate panel in a tall aspect ratio, both on desktops or laptops. They just don't make them AFAIK.

The only reason I didn't get the T14 was the total lack of home/end/pgup/pgdn keys. Just because it's a "gaming laptop" doesn't mean it doesn't need and shouldn't have a good keyboard (and I actually thought it was good aside from this small issue). Not everyone, and in fact I suspect very few people, who gets a gaming laptop is going to use it strictly for that, and most will want to be able to use it for actual work. I was looking for something to use as an actual computer while also having the added bonus of being able to play games on it, but a keyboard with a poor layout is a no-go for me. It's a shame they decided to skimp on such an important aspect, especially considering ASUS is generally one of the better ones regarding those keys, often putting them to the side in their own column when so many other OEMs put them in tiny shared keys by the arrow keys.

The ability to use it for actual work when not gaming is also a good reason to use a 16:10 display, even if it meant having black bars which, given a good contrast ratio, shouldn't be very noticeable. But it does make sense that such a display probably doesn't exist. I look forward to the day when display technology advances to the point all but the very cheapest computers have very good ones. Hopefully microLED will bring that.

An extra NVMe slot should be standard on most laptops at this point. They take up so little space and offer so much advantage.

I understand why some people might want 2 ram slots and 2 nvme drive slots. But understand that this is a slim bezel 14" notebook. You are asking for too much.

A 15" slim bezel laptop can just barely fit 2 ram slots and 2 nvme slots, there had to be compromises to go even smaller.

Especially since it has a 76wh battery (8-10 Hours), with a capacity that is bigger than that of most 15" and 17" laptops, which typically have 50-70wh batteries.

Take a look inside the Asus G14, the motherboard is full of components, where will they find the space for a second ram slot AND second nvme drive? I'm guessing if they really pushed it, they might be able to get another nvme slot in there, but doing both an extra ram slot and extra nvme will require a smaller battery.

Personally 14" is way too small for me, 15" is manageable, but 17.3" is the sweet spot.

Hopefully MSI refreshes their GS75 like they did with the GS65 to GS66.

I'm just waiting for a slim bezel, 20mm, 5lbs, 99wh battery, 1440p 165hz, thin and light 17.3" GS76 with a 45W 5900HX + 90W 3070/3080 Max-q to launch.

If they have RTX 30 series graphics, then at least the AMD laptops won't be behind in the video department. Still need USB4/TB4 and for picky people like me, touchpad buttons in models which are AMD-based (we get less choice usually). Otherwise, I've a reason to choose Intel.

Why would you pay extra for a webcam when it's traditionally used in gaming laptops? Plus many apps use webcams. You'd have to be an absolute idiotic cunt to enable manufacturers to make you pay extra instead of applying pressure to make the cameras better. Smh and it's not just the below comment suggesting that, it's the damn sticking verbatim passed off in the laptop gaming community. Talk about stupid smh.

Can you please release the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme (Gen4) model with AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS + GTX 1660 Ti Max-Q as option for 2021?

Alternatively, a thicker X1 Extreme chassis with centered keyboard without numberpad would be great to accommodate a RTX 2060 Max-Q. Your ThinkPad T15 series with their bezels from the 19th century are chunky enough to house decent cooling.

Otherwise the Asus G14 is the only option with good keyboard for work and occasional 3D intensive tasks as the Legion 5 and 7 have rubbish keyboards.
