I almost bought the LG G6 three years back but ended up going with another flagship instead. While the phone looked great, the CPU was instantly outdated and they didn't have a good history of security and software updates. The Snapdragon 835 flagship I got instead performs great to this day, though the updates were just as bad.
At this point, I don't know why anyone wouldn't go Samsung, particularly if updates matter, as they're doing four years of security updates along with three Android version updates on their flagships. Now that the S21 is going back to a flat screen, I will probably get that, never would've bought any of the curved screens that they put out all these years and only considered the flat variants like the s10e.
The only remaining consideration is the Exynos/Snapdragon split, but with the latest Exynos benchmarking well, that may not matter as much this time.
