The Huawei Mate 8 receives a new update, almost five years after being released

The Huawei Mate 8 is still receiving software updates, nearly five years after its release in November 2019. The latest update brings the July 2020 set of security patches and a battery abnormality detection feature. The update is rolling out now to Chinese handsets but should make its way to global handsets, too.

The security patch must be so desperately needed that it forces huawei to wake up from long sleep. Still, bravo Huawei. Keep it like this and one day, they might offer better support than google itself.
