A 12 GB RAM variant of the Asus ROG Phone 3 has been spotted on the Geekbench 5 database with scores that are in the same ballpark as that of the previous sighting of the 8 GB RAM variant. Meanwhile, Asus said that it is now a Unity Verified Solutions Partner and ROG Phone-specific features can now be accessed by game developers via a Unity plugin.

QuoteDevelopers using the Unity Engine will now have access to Asus's ROG Phone SDK via a plugin on the Unity Asset Store that allows them to optimize games and take advantage of specific ROG Phone features. The new plugin offers five SDKs for tapping into ROG Phone 2 and ROG Phone 3 capabilities.

Does this mean developers will be able to detect and block these functions? I would consider that to be a bad thing. The way it is, the interface disconnect between the game and the hardware means that the user must be the one to configure it, which means the user must necessarily be able to configure it as she wishes.

Configuring the color of the flashy logo on the back as a game function?...Wow, the devs would really need to get creative about that.

They may or may not be able to block functions per se but they may choose not to use them. Hopefully, the new SDK allows in-game controls of refresh rate, RGB, fan control (via the attachment) etc without having to switch back and forth between the Armory Crate app.
