What kind of overpriced nonsense is this? Where do they even get 768px screens from? Are those still being made? For only $30 extra you get 1080p but then it has terrible 250nits. And only by paying $200 more do you get 1000nit screen but nothing in between. They charge over $200 to upgrade to a 4700U, not even 4800U, the 16gb ram sets you back another $300.

Hell it comes default with a 500gb spin disk drive! And if you want to upgrade to 1tb or 128gb that costs over $100.

And most weird yet, the power cord is not included with AC adapter! So you gotta pay an extra $2-8 for the cord... not picking one isn't an option. (I know that isn't a lot but it feels like a very low blow nickle-n-diming)

This is a pretty darn big rip off if I've seen one. I would skip it.

Holy crap... This thing is LITERALLY DOUBLE the price of the Lenovo offering of 4500U and 4700U, both when configured cheapest or best specs.
and this thing is freaking ugly, and from a notoriously low quality company. Fan noise is almost certain, that case looks like a closed tin can.

If not picking one isn't an option, then it's not paying extra and it is included (at least the cheapest one). Normally, they use relative prices in configurators, so that's a bit unusual (maybe the $0 option isn't available and this is an artifact). But it doesn't really change anything. They have it separate because there are multiple options. It always costs something. They just usually don't tell you. As long as the from price includes it, it's no problem IMHO.

Now you have me wondering what is the difference between them to warrant different prices. I understand that different power supplies might have different prices, but cords for the same supply? I guess they might be for different regions and some less way less. That's the best I can come up with right now.

nope. if you will count power or battery life. intel is selling desktop processors in laptops now. intel one core boost-more energy than entire 8 zen-2 cores.
