Based on the ThinkPad T590, Lenovo presents the comparatively low-cost ThinkPad P53s workstation. The configuration and maintenance options are somewhat limited, but everything else remains solid as usual. In this review we'll clarify the details of what buyers can expect.

This model was my sweet spot of battery life, performance and flexibility.   The p53s is the first in the series I just don't want.

Powerbridge is gone, there isn't even a removable battery.  The full size SD card slot was demoted to a microSD, the HDMI is still 1.4... how long has hdmi 2 been around?  The performance isn't a big step up from my i7-8550u p52s but everywhere else it takes a step back instead of forward... even the 1080p screen sounds inferior.

They have destroyed everything that made the Thinkpad unique except the keyboard... and I'm addicted to thinkpad keyboards but that only goes so far.

The extra mm shaved off the case here or there means nothing compared to what has been lost.   If I wanted light at all cost Id buy an X series.  Give me my upgradability and versatility back.

You should not compare apples with oranges. Can you please compare the 4k display model of the P53s with the 4k model of the competition. Every other comparison is just flawed.
