I would love to have that, too. All my systems run on GNU/Linux with as much as free and open source software as possible. I won't buy a notebook with a NVidia GPU because there is no open source drivers in working conditions for NVidia. For AMD, the GPUs are wonderfully supported with open source drivers. What is means is that you put any recent GNU/Linux distro in it and everything magically works, no fussing around GPU proprietary drivers. But, it seems hard to find a fast CPU and any AMD GPU on notebooks.
So, a good intel CPU (8750H) with an Iris Pro GPU would be the ideal solution...But, Intel seems to dislike the Iris Pro Graphics, so we are stuck with HD 630. However, now the system builders won't sell it. I would buy it happy!
I have a very old Thinkpad X61 wich only has an integraded GPU from Intel. It works wonderfully today, because the supported is baked into the Linux kernel and the sorrounding free and open source drivers. If I were to depend on a GPU vendor to provide a proprietary driver for an old system, it would be useless.
So, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, give us a 8750H notebook without a dedicated NVidia GPU. Or, at least, give us one that the user could deactivate the GPU without compromising the boot process and external monitor connections.
Thanks!
