Noch ist das iPhone X nicht am Markt verfügbar, schon wird heftig über die Zukunft von Face ID spekuliert. Der berühmt-berüchtigte KGI-Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, dessen Prognosen oft tatsächlich eintraten, ist der Meinung, dass Face ID 2018 in allen iPhone-Modellen zum Standard wird. Touch ID könnte zum Backup degradiert werden, falls Face ID zum Flop wird.
