I've had my ProBook 4540s for 1.5 years now, since it was passed down from my dad. It lasted for a good amount of time, but I started to notice lags on the laptop after having it running Windows 10 Pro. In curiosity to try Windows 11, I had installed Windows 11 Pro on it, while having 4GB of RAM, and the 500GB HDD. It stuttered as time passed, taking more than 5 minutes to boot up, and the same amount of time to launch applications.
It made me to use Linux, which breathed back life into it. ZorinOS kept it beautifully running, but now I've got rid of it, and I use Arch on it now. Got Arch with KDE Plasma and Hyprland. Laptop's running as strong as a stallion now.
