Quiet Worker. A conservative Intel Core i7, a dedicated graphics card from Nvidia and a fast SSD ensure great system performance. The manufacturer promises and delivers a long battery life, despite all these powerful components. Find out more about this model in our in-depth review.

I will make this simple. DO NOT BUY LENOVO ULTRABOOKS. The hinges are absolutely notorious for breaking with minimal usage. The aluminum outer shell is nice but if you look closely at your broken Lenovo you will see that the main stress points are on a 16th of an inch plastic piece where the screen meets the hinge. This will break... Not may but will. Lenovo put out a poorly designed product and if you are lucky enough to have it break during the warranty period get ready to fight to get this repaired for free because this problem is "the customers fault due to mishandling". Keep in mind the mishandling is closing it. Lenovo knows well that they have a design problem and I am shocked that a $1000 dollar laptop is this substandard. This is my first, and most importantly, my last Lenovo product. Do not get suckered like the rest of us who bought this shoddy product. Buy anything else but a Lenovo.

Check out all the customer reviews on the hinge problem. I am posting this review on all available sites as a warning PSA to all my fellow laptop users who work hard for their money and want a quality product that will last for years.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM LENOVO PRODUCTS.

Originally bought a Y400p, whch eventually failed to boot, was repaired poorly and came back with damage.  Was replaced with a Y410p, first unit was DOA, second lasted a month, third lasted 3 months.  Replaced by a U530 .  Great for 5 months till the hinge broke which also caused the screen to crack.  Lenovo denied warranty so after all they put me through, I end up with a pile of junk with little value.  If you own this machine?  Treat the hinge like it is made of fine crystal.  Limit it's use and if you do close the lid, make sure there isn't even a speck of dust on the platform.  If you're considering this unit?  DON'T!  Avoid the Ideapad line like the plague.  This was singularly the worst purchase I ever made.  It's cheap poorly made junk.  If you must buy Lenovo and I suggest you don't, then buy a Thinkpad!

Unfortunately I purchased a U530 Ideapad before learning of the weak screen attachment points.  Two and a half months out of warranty and the thing breaks simply by opening the case.  I will not be sending this back for repair because Lenevo will not give me an estimate for repair over the phone.  I was really impressed with the working of this laptop until it broke. I would not recommend this product to anyone..

+1 for a badly built hinge. Broke months out of warranty with medium usage and good treatment. Staying away from Lenovo.

Great laptop. I also had the hinge fail after a couple months outside of warranty, but they happily paid for shipping the replacement install and parts. I paid nothing and received the machine back within 2 weeks. No complaints here. Lenovo customer service even extended a internals service for free for another year. Screen is nice, though outside is hard to view. Otherwise, one of the best laptops I have owned ot of many.
