The throttling problem appears to have been cured with BIOS v. 1.8. I had same problem with the unit as reported in this article, Lenovo service tech's didn't solve it, but the BIOS upgrade really worked. Fast on video and web now. I have last year's TP10 and this is now an improvement, not a downgrade.
I love the ultrabook keyboard (although it's heavy) and the new Pen Pro (it cures the parallax/accuracy problem of the older Wacom technology). I use the TP10 for hours at work with just the flip cover taking client notes with the pen and like it for that. When I type, though, the ultrabook keyboard is a big win: long key throw, great mechanical feel, great accuracy, and FULL SIZE key spacing; the small size is accomplished with very narrow bezels, smaller function keys, and narrower enter/shift/backspace keys around the periphery. The keyboard weight seems to be necessary to ballast the tablet's top-heaviness; however, the benefit is that the unit is very lapable, like a notebook, along with the good keyboard. It does better as a true 2-in-1 than a Surface because you can configure it to be a better tablet or a better notebook according to your need. I wish they'd added more battery to the keyboard instead of simple ballast, however. But nicely done, overall, if you want to type a lot or use a pen..
On the negative side, the IPS panel looks good except dark images or streaming video, where severe light leakage washes out the blacks in the corners. The deep blacks and brightness of the previous year's model have been lost in the transition to Gen 2. Not a big deal most of the time, but some people may care.
I have no connection to Lenovo other than as a customer.
