Sharp performer. The Blade is back with a honed edge to take the crown in the razor-thin gaming category. Does this refreshed model make the cut? Or is it just a dull point?

While 8GB of RAM is still sufficient for many games, but nevertheless I have to agree that a $2000 laptop with only 8GB is a pretty measly; should have come with 16GB, especially at this price point. But then again, its Razer! You're paying more for the brand!! Overpriced stuff. Almost like Alienware.

I have the 2014 model, love it. Paid a decent penny for it but it was worth every one of them. If you value build quality and solid feel, thin and light weight without sacrificing performance, this is about the only place to go.

Thin & Light

Thin & Light you always sacrifice some performance.  The 970M is famous for sipping power & therefore producing only small amounts of heat, so it is well suited to the thin & light razor; however, if you put a 980M in it & start overclocking it then you'll realise that you always sacrifice performance with thin & light.

8GB RAM is not enough for a $2000 laptop - like other people have mentioned.  As far as a thin & light notebook goes though, it's a good one.  I would never buy a thin & light because they generally don't offer the same performance as bulkier alternatives, certainly not when it comes to overclocking ability too.

The same RAM comments pop up often for Apple products too. Much of the price premium is indeed for the unique slim build. I do agree that the FHD configuration should have at least included a 16 GB option.

By any chance a power consumption (wattage) test will be done?

I still cant believe they haven't perfected this laptop. It's like they're purposefully leaving flaws in it. Things to fix:

  • No display port (even a micro one would do)

No Matt coating for outdoor usage

Display too high a resolution for feasible use (1440p would make way more sense)

Touchscreen increasing weight and reducing battery life.

no accessible SSD slot / no m.2 raid option

PLEASE RAZER ITS NOT THAT HARD!

Okay, it looks awesome, great, stylisch, sexy, the dark brother of the macbook. But I'd like a LAN port too as a gamer. And a 15" would be better. And 60 dB under load is too much. Even with headphones.

Will you be happy with a wife that looks like a sex bomb but can do nothing else than sex? Maybe fun for the first month, but then you'd long for other features  :D

I thought they did products from  players to players, but they are just following the cheap asian manufacturers with an apple design  :o

I really love the apple design and my first thought was : awesome !
But why without thunderbolt ?!.
it would be a big pro because of the possibilities you would have with thunderbolt : high-speed lan , 4k video out , full speed pci-e port , ...
:-\
