Kaveri incoming. AMD braces itself against Intel's smart Haswell entry-level CPUs with its latest iteration of the Bulldozer architecture. Acer packs the brand new A10-7300 quad-core with integrated Radeon R6 graphics in one of its eternally unchanged standard casings, and presents an affordable multimedia machine to the bargain-hunting buyer for just 500 Euros. Can AMD stand up against Intel this time?

It was interesting to read how the installation of mantle drivers greatly improved single threaded performance making this laptop one of the most versatile yet prolonging battery life while being very affordable.

I have an A8-4555M (trinity) at 19w. It is HORRIBLE. If i`m to go AMD again, i`m sticking with 35w chips. There is just not enough TDP for both GPU and CPU to use.

Will the 35w kaveri be able to run at stock at least? Turbo core only helps when you need CPU or GPU, when you need both (gaming) it sometimes makes things worse.
A real shame...
Also, laptop makers have to pay attention to cooling, it will throttle by either temps or power usage. My Toshiba throttles due to overheating (they have chosen to use a quiet little cooler that can`t cool the chip)...
Sometimes APU`s can make great laptops, sometimes they suck.
