Windows 8 Book. The VivoBook S400CA provides the ideal symbiosis for Windows 8: Conventional notebook and touchscreen combined. This allows traditional programs and apps in the tiled layout to both be used as they were intended. The question is whether this makes the VivoBook a well rounded off package?

I have bought this one. But how to ensure that SSD is used by the system as  cache. SSD has two partitions. Details as given by parted and gparted as below
Model: ATA SanDisk SSD U100 (scsi)
Disk /dev/sdb: 24.0GB
Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B
Partition Table: gpt
Disk Flags:

Number  Start   End     Size    File system  Name                  Flags    Label
2      1049kB  4296MB  4295MB  fat32        EFI system partition  hidden   INTELRST
1      4297MB  24.0GB  19.7GB               HFS
Any clues to know whether SSD is used by system. I have seen a reply by intel in similar situation as said in
http://communities.intel.com/thread/34039
In this, it is said
"SSD cache or acceleration does not work under AHCI. If you like to enable this feature the computer requires RAID mode. If your computer model does not support RAID then, SSD cache is not supported."
In BIOS, only AHCI or IDE mode is available. Hence the doubt whether SSD cache is used or not?

I have a question: is it possible to properly use this laptop without the touchscreen, only with the mousepad? Thanks!

Can it run 3ds Max 2012 and the Adobe Package (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)?

I had a problem with my notebook screen
a slick appeared in the center of the display, tactile functions work perfectly, but it is annoying to appreciate all the time,
I called asus and they told me that the stain is caused by excess pressure and is not covered by the warranty. Do you know any solution to this problem?
initially each traveling with the notebook appeared stain, but in the course of the day would disappear. currently the stain does not disappear

Hi there drakard! i just bought my vivo book last aug 2013 and had the same problem as yours. i got the slick a day after i bought it. yes, i called the IT store where i bought it and had them repair for the warranty . They changed the screen as they claimed. Unfortunately, two days after repair i was suprised that i got the slick back again. i found out that it is due to a pressure on the outside part of the notebook. this makes it a very fragile gadget and i also found out that it is a common problem of this model. what i did  for the second time the slick appeared is that i put pressure on my middle finger while putting it outside part of the notebook just the opposite side of the slick and slightly move towards the center of slick. and slowly it went back to normal. i do this most of the time i put pressure on my notebook and see the slick come back.

L.V.Gandhi - I went through a reinstall of the OS and it steps you through the ExpressCache installation and setup.  http://www.eightforums.com/drivers-hardware/18912-asus-s400ca-24gb-ssd-used-not-how-know-4.html#post327218
