Die Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) hat vorgeschlagen den Full-HD-Nachfolger für hochauflösende Displays künftig mit dem Begriff "Ultra HD" zu versehen. Ultra HD soll künftig die bisher gebräuchliche Bezeichnung "4K" bei Displays mit mindestens 3.840 x 2.160 Pixeln ersetzen.
