Gaming GPUs with 8 GB VRAM far from sufficient for modern gaming, revealed by Radeon RX 7600 vs RX 7600 XT deep-dive

While 8 GB of VRAM may be enough for 1080p in older titles, it is simply not sufficient for modern titles, especially with ray tracing or high-resolution gaming. This was confirmed by a deep-dive by PC Games Hardware, who pit the Radeon RX 7600 against the RX 7600 XT - two borderline identical GPUs, but with vastly different amounts of VRAM.

Hardware Unboxed guys on YouTube have been beating this drum for a LONG time and nVidia is still releasing 8-12GB cards..

I am disappointed in this entirely pointless comparison.  Yes 16 is better than 8.  With Raytrace is better than without, for those games that need it.  You didnt need an article to point that out.  Thank you Captain Obvious.

Still using an 8 gig card, it's good for 4K in certain older titles. There isn't anything I've thrown at it in 1080 it hasn't beasted, unless I've dialed up all the ray effects. If you're happy without 8 gig is fine for the most part.

8gigs is absolutely nothing these days especially if you game in vr. I'd say nowadays 24 would be minimum for vr and 16 for normal gaming. This year's gpu selection was very dissapointing and show we need removable and upgradable vram
