XDefiant is discontinued and Ubisoft lays off several hundred employees

The free-to-play shooter XDefiant is coming to an end: Ubisoft is shutting down the servers on June 3, 2025, and the game is no longer available for download. Nearly 300 Ubisoft employees will lose their jobs as a result of XDefiant's demise.

Meh bet this would have done miles better if it was on steam directly with no ubisoft launcher. I was keen to try it but that was enough to put me off.
