The Mozilla Foundation has announced it has let go of 30% of its staff, eliminating its advocacy and global programs divisions. It marks the second round of layoffs to hit the company after it let go of 60 people in February.

They stopped supporting Windows 7.  I never allow any Win11 devices to go online, so care not what happens to Mozilla.  Their mobile browser sucks btw.  Huawei browser on Android serves me much better than the toy Mozilla mobile browser.

Mozilla Foundation is not the one who makes the browser, they are the the non-profit that fights for open web, privacy rights and access to the internet.

Firefox has not stopped support of windows 7 yet, 115esr still gets updates till April 2025.

Huawei browser is just a wrapper around chromium with 0 privacy. It is a toy compared to FireFox on Android which actually has plugin support.

Sucks how? Explain with a bit more words. I have zero issues, all great performance-wise, sync works great, almost all PC extensions are available and work on Android too, all without a single problem (so far). The only issue that really sucks is translating different languages, but then again there are extensions for that so it's fine. uBlock Origin works great so no ads either, including on YouTube junk.

This is a pretty big deal but it isn't the only browser to do so. Kiwi browser on android also so as well. Desktop chromium extension support that is.

That's correct, KABU, I know. Hunter2020 was talking about how bad Firefox on Android is so I was commenting just that part.

I have two different Firefox versions on iOS. They BOTH suck. Why you might ask?

- Nether support plugins
- Nether can remove advertisements
- Nether can stop auto playing media
- Nether can REMEMBER where they were when pushed into the background
- When completely closed and reopened they WILL reload the last webpage that was displayed HOWEVER it is a OLD COPY of when it was last displayed!!

Mobile browser support on aging devices kinda sucks anyway.

Wait, I won't quote your full reply because I believe you and I have nothing to add there as I don't use iOS at all, but isn't any browser on iOS just a skin on top of Safari? So Firefox on iOS just visually looks like Firefox but that's Safari underneath and is actually completely different than Firefox on Android (where its a standalone browser without anything shared with Chrome), no?

You can remove most of the ads though, just change your DNS in your phone settings to AdGuard free DNS or something similar.

It was already mentioned that FireFox on iOS is just reskinned Safari because Apple doesn't allow other browsers on iOS. Only exception is Europe due to the new laws. Though not sure if FireFox plans to spend the effort to have a different iOS browser just for Europe.

And how iOS works is, unlike Android, Safari is tied down to the OS(like IE used to be on Windows). Which means the moment that you stop getting OS upgrades, you stop getting browser security upgrades and html/js feature upgrades as well.
