Tesla is 'rapidly approaching the point' when its homebrew 4680 battery cells will be the cheapest to manufacture among all EV makers in the US.

Why did everyone stop talking about CATL's Shenxing Plus LFP battery-packs - 1000km per charge and 600km partial charge in 10 mins. No cobalt or nickel - therefore cheaper and greener - but bad news for mining moguls/vested interests. Also more heat-stable than NMC lithium ion - with long life-span. The battery was announced and widely reported in April this year but there's been a total global media silence since June.
