Google is looking to offer a native Terminal app for Android, possibly with Android 16. The Terminal app will allow installation of a Linux VM with full GUI and GPU acceleration along with other sysadmin features including disk resizing, port forwarding, and partition recovery. This is an extension of Google's earlier project of allowing Chrome OS to run on Android using the Android Virtualization Framework.

Wow, this is amazing news since it will be the first real Convertible Phone-Tablet-PC, with a real mobile OS (Android) and a real full Desktop OS (Linux) when you have a large monitor connected!

I can't wait to buy one!

You mean Google will finally have their hands over a lot of cheap devices that will jump onto this as a "solution" for a proper PC experience. I doubt Google is doing this out of their good interests.

If it's true, I will throw away my iPhone, even though Google Photos doesn't support bidirectional sync.

Nice!

Screw ARM Windows though, wine is excellent for running any windows stuff you'd like to.
