The three main priorities for Intel right now include a more streamlined product portfolio that focuses on X86 first and AI second, securing more customers for the angstrom-era nodes, as well as establishing the foundry division into a independent subsidiary.

Decades ago AMD sold off its 'foundry' unit. (AMD seems to be still going strong!)

While western culture places a premium on 'best in class' and businesses invest ungodly sums chasing to be in the 'lead' so they may reap the profit margins 'top of the line' represents this expenditure needs to come from somewhere.

Team Blue has dipped their toes into countless markets over the decades and quickly exited as there was not enough margin in them for Intel.

In classic Intel fashion, after ignoring the GPU market as 'there was not enough profit in it'. Unknown to them (at the time) the massive parallel processing of GPU's is ideal for "AI" and in typical Intel arrogance they claimed to be able to overtake AMD & Nvidia in mere month's or years!!! LOL!!!

While seemingly everybody else is doing better than them in EACH of the markets Intel is in, 'loss leader' seems to be their only 'win'.
