I've been an Android guy since the start, but I'm tired of Google's bad promises about privacy and half baked "AI" features, particularly around image capture, which just aren't as good/consistent as when not leaning so hard on AI. And Google doesn't even include features like a LIDAR sensor, and Android is going in every direction. Now that Apple is being forced to open up on RCS and sideloading, I'm seriously considering switching, and it pains me to say that.

All valid point regarding Google's not living up to promises as well as Apple and RCS. Don't count on Apple to allow sideloading. Just other App Store payments for now.

No one is forcing you to buy Apple, get Xiaomi with ten thousand Hz and USB3 speeds, enjoy couple OS updates and buggy mess of HyperOS.
