Brazilian Supreme Court has ordered service providers and app stores to block X (Twitter) within five days after the company failed to name legal representative, a requirement for foreign companies operating within Brazil. The move is another chapter in the continuing row between Justice Alexandre de Moraes and Elon Musk, who is accused of helping spread fake news and threats against the justices.

If this is the same judge that let Lula out of jail, then yeah, Musk hit the rat in the head with his statement.

I dont know why they complain about "Muh fake news" when the community notes are there for something.

Also, when will sites stop putting "Extreme right wing" titles to people that want to protect their democracy?

Look at all these losers defending Muskrat. If it's so much about defending freedom of speech, he'd hire a lawyer to make his case instead of hiding behind facade that he's a freedom of speech absolutist. Muskrat doesn't care about freedom of speech, he has banned words that hurt his feelings. You guys just lack critical thinking and like to suck up to billionaires who couldn't care less about your sorry life.

Even before the ownership change, Twitter has been an absolute disaster for humanity. A cesspool that has made the most toxic concepts from both politically left and right to mainstream.

The faster we all burn down "town square" style social media and return to community moderated forums the faster humanity can return to normality.

It should be noted that in many instances Musk complies with government censorship requests. E.g.: Turkiye and India. And Musk defends this practice as sound business policy and 'just complying with local laws'. But in this case he was sympathetic to the political views of the account holders and decided to stand behind them.

Honestly it all ought to be dub'ed "ANTI social media" as the users hide behind their keyboards and spew crap that they would never dream of in person and face to face.
