Odd Tom's reported 13 hours on the 9's and they used 5G.  A 3-4 hour jump over the 8's for the same test.

I've noticed the same throttling around 40C during charging it doesn't get higher unlike previous pixels but it still charges faster than the P8P especially with the 45W charger. I'm pretty OK with charging maintaining a healthy temp for the battery, but still if you're low on battery you can get a quick boost of more than 2% per minute and get hours of us in minutes.

Odd, every other report I've seen about these phones states the opposite, that they have exceptional battery life.

Yes , it is. When compare with previous Pixels

Wait. Higher temperature of the phone is better, since it means more heat is getting away from the chip. That's what those technologies like vapor chamber do, they transfer heat effectively away from the SoC. The heat still needs to go somewhere, and on the phone that means the back of the phone.

No, they compared with the next best battery life phones.....

Haha "significantly" shorter is not the term I'd use, that's very click bait esque. My Pixel 9 pro xl is significantly better than both my fold 4 and s24 ultra in real life situations aaaannnnd I haven't even used it for 2 weeks for it to optimize.

Everyone trying to trash this phone, but it's great and we still have android 15 coming. The only reason I got the phone was due to Verizon giving me an exclusive deal for a free phone, no trade in or plan change, a 3 year credit on installments... I'm glad I took the deals bc I won't go back to Samsung after this. Let's see the longevity of the device, because Samsungs battery will be terrible after the first year of use. My Samsung phones were always ending the day at 15%, my Pixel im around 70% with my usage.

I was going to wait for the iPhone 16pm, bc I was tired of the android battery fails, but the pixel save the day. I'll stick with Google phones and maybe try apple again if they do something worthwhile with their hardware... Other than add gimmicks like titanium haha

Very very odd as most of you guys are saying on this platform, I haven't come across any newer device that reaches a maximum temperature of above 48° let alone 50°C.

The pixel throttles to maintain that temperature ,so does the other phones.

Obviously I'm waiting for Notebookcheck test to further come to a conclusion too.
