Specifications as well as single-thread performance numbers for a high-performance AMD Granite Ridge Zen 5 processor appear to have been uncovered by an X user. The chip runs at up to 5.8 GHz making it easy to compare its performance to the 5.7 GHz, Zen 4-powered Ryzen 9 7950X and to calculate the performance per clock cycle improvement that is seemingly on the cards.

19%? That would be huge. It would mean that between 2020(Zen3/M1/Tiger Lake) and 2024(Zen5/M4/Meteor Lake):
Apple improved IPC by ~15.5%
Intel improved IPC by ~17.5%
AMD improved IPC by ~ 34%!

Yeah Mate, AMD just keeps on delivering. In the mean time Intel folks still believe that it's 2015 and they can keep on chilling out. "Why work on truly groundbreaking products when we can just add a few more cores and some fancy new technology that nobody will use."
