I'm sorry but  - what a bunch of nonsense!!!

While there are more then just MZ dreaming of a world donning VR/AR headsets the reality is that if it was going to happen, it would of already. :)

Very few games to date offer the replay ability of random or procedurally generated levels. Ai COULD be a real boon here however where I think it will REALLY make an impact is by providing FRAME FILLER for low bandwidth streaming games. :)

As far as the 'retro' goes, there are DECADES of fairly fun and well made (what it seems to be at least) "abandonware" that is "new" for those that never were exposed to it or played it.

Many companies are gathering 100's if not 1000's of titles together in packages of cheap/inexpensive OBS hardware (however is good enough to run emulators and the stolen/pirated/abandonware) and offering up complete 'gaming systems' that can offer 100's if not 1000's of hours of entertainment for the cost of a SINGLE modern AAA game.

brainwashing article to persuade people to jump into VR/AR when its obvious it will remain niche in 2024
