Samsung has shared details for the Galaxy Book4 Pro 14-inch, the smallest member of its new Galaxy Book4 trio. Available from next month in South Korea, the Galaxy Book4 Pro 14-inch will ship with Intel Core Ultra 5 and Core Ultra 7 processors, plus LPDDR5X RAM and a 120 Hz AMOLED display.

Why is Samsung making these things heavier? The only point in choosing a Samsung GalaxyBook was because of the light weight usually around 1KG or 2.4 - 2.6LB.. it seems the lightest of the new GalaxyBook 4 serious 16" is actually 1.56KG or  3.6LG.. that's much heavier than before.. may as well buy any brand or a Macbook Pro at that price point.

How is this an alternative to a MacBook Pro 14? Yes, it's a 14" laptop and it looks sort of like a MacBook Pro, but given that MacBook Pros use Apple's proprietary Mx ARM processors, and they have a closed proprietary OS that ONLY runs on their hardware - thus making it impossible to run any software that runs in MacBooks on any other system... it is in no way an alternative to a MacBook Pro!

It is a WINDOWS laptop that just happens to be similar to a MacBook Pro 14". It's also similar to a bunch of Windows 14" laptops.

Why even mention MacBook Pros at all? It has nothing to do with the article.

To me it isn't a true replacement unless it's available for every region... and Samsung Laptops isn't... Same as Pixels.
