The HP Pavilion Plus 14 powered by the Intel Core i7-1355U brings with it the same niceties found in the AMD Ryzen 7 7840U variant including the 2.8K IMAX Enhanced OLED display and 5 MP webcam while also adding a Thunderbolt 4 port. The similarities end there, however, and our review finds out that the performance disparity between the Intel and AMD variants is night and day.

We haven't reviewed the particular SKU you are referring to. Also, pitting a 15 W chip against a 45 W one doesn't make for a fair comparison. Having said that, if you are able to find that config for 1000 Euro, it seems like a pretty good deal to me. Pairing that CPU with a dGPU would be better, at least as an eGPU.

What's the point of comparing trash to trash? You only need to compare with AMD Zen4 series chips. Unless, of course, you find interesting models in your country, which is a problem even in the USA, thanks to the deliberate actions of AMD itself, in order to maintain high prices for its SoCs. But even if they deliberately hold down prices, TSMC is simply not able to produce volume comparable to Intel, and the difference between Intel vs AMD is 5:1. So the problem is that AMD is extremely scarce when looking at the wide field of laptop offerings.

There are many absurd final conclusions in local reviews, which, against the backdrop of figures inside the review, directly contradict the conclusion.

Apparently the calculation is made on the fact that the majority are lazy and do not study the numbers in the review (and their relationship between reviews), but stupidly look only at the final scores. The usual desire of the lazy man in the street is to have tasty food put into his mouth with minimal effort on his part. Only Zen 4 Phoenix has built-in 2 USB40 ports. Zen4 and all older series do not have a USB40 controller in the SoC. Intel has had them for several generations now. In addition, Intel laptops are sold in a ratio of at least 4:1, i.e. the total cost of an instance is lower than a laptop with AMD, for natural reasons - AMD cannot (or does not want) to increase its market share to the detriment of profits, and increasing its share is always unprofitable at the first moment, and they do not have a cache reserve, like Apple . In addition, they deliberately limit supplies to increase prices.

So here it all comes together - these are the problems of market share and the cost per copy of laptops with AMD compared to laptops with Intel.

I thought it was strange the review starts by saying it's worse than the AMD model despite being otherwise almost identical, yet has such a high score, so out of curiosity I checked the score in the AMD variant's review and, sadly unsurprisingly, found them to be the same. The more time on spend on NBC the more credibility they continue to lose in my eyes. There's too much bias and they don't seem to care about accuracy. I find myself skipping over more and more articles and reading it more to pass the time when there's nothing else to do than in an attempt to gain any real knowledge.

It is worse than the AMD model only in performance. This is reflected in the sub-ratings in these areas accordingly. There is no defined rule that overall scores cannot match even if individual scores show differences. Cursorily comparing the final score and ascribing motives is hilarious.

The rating is almost entirely auto-calculated based on the scores in individual tests, category in which the device is placed, and other weightages for a specific laptop class. There's not much manual intervention possible except for certain aspects such as look and feel, keyboard haptics etc, which are subjective anyways.

Most of our readers do spend valuable time reading the reviews, or at least the important points under each section, and I hope others do the same as well. Makes our effort so much more rewarding.
