Samsung and Google challenge Dolby Atmos with new IAMF 3D spatial audio technology

Samsung has just announced that it has developed a new 3D spatial audio technology, IAMF (Immersive Audio Model and Formats), in collaboration with Google. IAMF is open source and has features like vertical sound channels, AI-based scene analysis and the flexibility to customise content audio based on listening preferences.
