Huawei's Kirin line of processors were once a main rival for Qualcomm's Snapdragon mobile SoC series, particularly at the higher end. However, they have been sanctioned out of existence by the US government. There have been rumors of their return in 2023; however, the OEM has reportedly dismissed them as fake news.

What is dead may never die, but rise again harder and stronger.

Seriously, I wouldn't say gone for good, because it's the whole Chinese semiconductor industry that will die if they stay idle while Uncle Sam comes up with new sanctions each more ridiculous than the previous one.

They sure will rise again starting slowly with lower end chipsets cause they are limited to SMIC SMEE capacities and technologies. It will take years upon years but they will rise together and no sanctions will be able to stop them. US choose a short term trade victory removing Apple & Qualcomm competitor but it will result in a long term loss.
