The configuration checks all the right boxes in terms of performance, RAM capacity, Thunderbolt docking capabilities, price point, and design. No need to settle for a lesser Pavilion model at this price range.

Costco is selling the Envy 13 with 11th gen core i7, 16GB RAM, 1 TB SSD at $800 USD or a $350 USD discount.

I went with the HP Pavilion Aero instead with the AMD CPU.

HP has a sale on the Pavilion Aero 13" with a $200 USD discount.  When configured with the Ryzen 7 and 1 TB SSD, it was more than $85 USD than the Costco Envy 13 with i7 and 1 TB SSD at $800.  I wanted a touch screen, which the Envy has but the Aero did not.  So I went with the Envy i7 + 1TB SSD. 

BTW, Costco sale on the Envy i7+1TB SSD ends Dec 20th.  Costco sale on the Envy i5+512GB ends Dec 24th.  Don't have an expiration date on the Aero sale by HP.

Sale at Costco ($350 USD off) has been extended on both HP Envy 13 laptop models.  The i7 + 1 TB goes to Dec 31 of 2021 and the i5 +512 GB goes to Jan 2 of 2022. 

I ended up with the i5 model (13-ba1063cl) because of its display panel, which is advertised to be 1000 nits, while the i7 has a display panel of 400 nits. I needed a bright display, and the i5 was much brighter.
