AMD announces the Radeon RX 6700 XT for 20% more than the RX 5700 XT but with 40 CUs, 192-bit VRAM and a lower memory bandwidth

AMD's Radeon RX 6700 XT is official, and will be the cheapest way to experience the RDNA 2 architecture on a PC, at least for the time being. AMD insists that the Radeon RX 6700 XT is a foil for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and the RTX 3070, although its VRAM specifications are more of a match for the RTX 3060.

It's rather weird discussing the memory bandwidth of this card without mentioning the Infinity Cache. I mean, it's shown itself to be quite effective at compensating for lower bandwidth on the 6800 and 6900 series, competing with Nvidia cards with both wider buses and much higher clocked memory. This has a 96MB cache compared to the 128MB of the higher end cards, so it's definitely not bad in that regard. The relatively small VRAM bandwidth deficit to competing Nvidia cards doesn't make it seem likely that this will be limited by bandwidth.

Make no mistake, it's one of the most biased 6700 XT headlines. Just awful.
